This complex-looking pot holder/trivet is simpler than it looks! A natural next step after the Folded Star Pot Holder, this version is still simple enough to be your first folded star project. Join us and learn the simple folding technique to create this beautiful and useful little pot holder.
Finished Size:

Participants should be familiar with the operation of their sewing machine.
Most should be able to complete this project during class, with the exception of finishing the binding if opting to hand-sew the last step.
Materials:

Plum Easy Patterns “Morning Star” a folded Star of David Hot Pad (including 1 foundation)
¼ yard each of 4 different fabrics
2 ½” x width of fabric strip for binding
10” square of fabric for backing
10” square of cotton batting or InsulBright
- Roxanne glue
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting mat*
- Acrylic ruler for rotary cutting – 10” or longer
- Half-Hexie Ruler from Plum Easy Patterns or template plastic to make a cutting tool
- Thread that coordinates with your fabric
- Sewing machine
- Thread snippers
- Seam Ripper
- Walking foot for your sewing machine
- Spray Starch or Sizing
- Iron*
*Cutting mats and irons will be provided during class, but rotary cutting done outside of class will require an appropriate size of self-healing cutting mat. A mat that is at least 22” will make things much easier for cutting strips. Larger mats are great as they reduce the amount of re-positioning that you need to do with your fabric!
