Pill Bag Charity Sewing Day

Doctors Without Borders help people in crisis around the world. One thing we can do to help them is to make pill bags they will take with them to give to the people they were helping. The bags are used to hold items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, as well as any medications they were given.

The pill bags go all over the world and have been a very popular item, so much so that there was almost a riot when one medical team ran out of them. Joyce Phillips came to us asking for our help. Of course, we were happy to help so we are providing our classroom for a sewing day.

Now, where you come in, you can come in to sew any time during the day and help make a pill bag for someone in need. We could also use fabric. All it takes to make 1 bag is a piece of woven fabric 11” X 18” and a 27” drawstring. We could also use ribbon for a drawstring or they can be made from fabric or even selvedges. Whether you donate your time, your fabric, your ribbon or your cording, we appreciate any help you can give.
